AFOS continues to dominate UK Pathology Market

More than £1m of new contracts for mortuary equipment has been secured by AFOS helping the company to strengthen its position as the leading supplier in the UK pathology market.

AFOS has won five major orders for prestigious projects in 2009 to supply mortuary, pathology and laboratory equipment.

Two of these orders are for NHS trusts, the University Hospital of Morecambe Bay Trust (UHMB) and Southampton Trust.

AFOS are supplying UHMB trust, with specialist stainless steel equipment including autopsy tables, dissecting tables, lifting trolleys and body storage for a complete mortuary refurbishment project at both Lancaster Royal Infirmary and Furness General Hospital.

AFOS are supplying Southampton with new body stores including several bariatric stores.

In addition the company has won two PFI orders, one for Forth Valley, Scotland and the other for Pembury, Tunbridge Wells, as well as Pinderfields and Pontefract Hospitals Joint Venture Project at Pinderfields in Wakefield.

These three projects are for new mortuary and pathology laboratory facilities with AFOS supplying all of the body storage and specialist stainless steel autopsy and dissection tables and associated equipment.
